Who we are

Ark of Fire is an independent Christian rock music project. Our website is https://ark-of-fire.com. For privacy enquiries, contact support@ark-of-fire.com.

Information we collect and why

When you contact us, we process the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address and message, to respond to your enquiry. When you place an order or create an account, we process the information needed to manage your order, provide downloads, handle payment, assist you and comply with applicable legal obligations. This may include your contact details, billing information, purchased items, order history and download entitlements. Payment processing is handled through the payment services enabled at checkout; we do not need your complete payment card details to fulfil an order.

Website analytics

We use Independent Analytics, a WordPress analytics plugin, to understand website traffic, popular pages and how visitors find our music. We aim to limit the information collected, exclude our own administrative activity and retain analytics data for up to 12 months. Analytics may use technical information such as page visits, referral sources, device information and IP-derived information. We do not display a public visitor counter. Analytics settings and retention may be reviewed periodically.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and WooCommerce may use essential cookies to operate shopping carts, checkout, account login and security features. Other services or embedded content may set their own cookies or collect technical information. Where consent is legally required for non-essential tracking, it should be requested before such tracking is enabled. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may affect site functions.

Payments, hosting and service providers

We use WordPress, WooCommerce and our hosting provider to operate the site and fulfil orders. Relevant information may be processed by our payment provider, email delivery services and other providers necessary to run the website. Such processing is subject to applicable data protection obligations and the providers’ own notices. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where applicable, appropriate safeguards are required.

Radio and press promotions

If you contact us as a radio station, journalist or other media representative, we may retain your professional contact details, correspondence and the music promotional materials or download permissions supplied to you. We use this information to manage the requested promotional relationship and, where legally permitted, relevant follow-up communications. You may ask us to stop promotional contact at any time.

External links and embedded content

Our site may link to music platforms, social media websites or other third-party services. When you visit those websites or interact with embedded content, their privacy practices may apply. Please review their privacy notices.

How long we keep information

We retain information only as long as needed for its purpose. Order and financial records may need to be retained for statutory accounting and tax periods. Contact correspondence and press records are reviewed and deleted when no longer necessary. Our intended analytics retention period is 12 months. Account holders may request deletion of their account, subject to records we must retain by law.

Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of or objection to certain processing, and data portability where applicable. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, including the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
