Carry The Fire

A song about carrying the love of Christ into the lives of others. The mercy we receive is not meant to stop with us. Jesus calls us to love our neighbor, to see the wounded and forgotten, and to let compassion become more than words.

Scripture: Matthew 22:37–39; John 13:34–35

Lyrics

Love above all…
love above all…

I was running through the smoke, chasing broken signs
Hands full of shadows, heart full of noise
Every road I walked kept pulling me apart
Till a quiet light came burning through the dark
No throne of gold, no empty crown
Just mercy reaching when I hit the ground
A voice like thunder calling through the pain
Teaching me to live again

When the night is closing over me
I hear the truth beneath the fear—

Love above all!
Burn inside my soul!
With every breath, every step
You are in control!
Love my neighbor like myself, teach my heart to see
In the broken and forgotten, there’s a piece of me!
We carry the fire!
We carry the flame!
Standing in the darkness, calling out Your name!

Every stranger hides a war behind their eyes
Every wounded heart still searching for the light
If mercy found me in my weakest hour
Maybe love is more than words—maybe love is power
Hands that heal instead of blame
Hope alive inside the pain
We rise together, not alone
Turning dust to stone

When the fear comes crashing over me
I remember who You said i’d be—

Love above all!
Burn inside my soul!
With every breath, every step
You are in control!
Love my neighbor like myself, teach my heart to see
In the broken and forgotten, there’s a piece of me!
We carry the fire!
We carry the flame!
Standing in the darkness, calling out Your name!

No more walls
No divide
Only mercy standing side by side
When I fall
Lift me higher
Teach my heart to carry fire

Love above all!
Echo through the night!
Every scar becomes a spark, every wrong made right!
Love my neighbor like myself, let compassion lead the way!
We carry the fire together, love will never fade!

Love above all…
Teach us how to love…
